Mild Steel
Mild Steel
Steel sheets with thicknesses ranging from 0.7mm to 30mm are laser-cut by us.
Iron makes up a far larger portion of steel than carbon does. Due to its low carbon content, it is exceptionally robust and has a great resistance to breaking. Mild steel has a high tensile and impact strength compared to higher carbon steels, which typically shatter or fracture under stress whereas mild steel bends or deforms. Mild steel is also extremely malleable, especially when it is cold, unlike higher carbon steels.
When compared to tougher steels, mild steel is easier to mill and easier to weld, both to itself and to other kinds of steel. This makes mild steel a common material in construction. The finish it develops is lovely, and it may be polished. In contrast to higher carbon steels, it cannot be toughened by heat treatment techniques.
Sizes
The largest part we can cut is 2980mm x 1480mm because most materials have a maximum sheet size of 3000mm x 1500mm and need a 10mm margin on all sides. There are some exceptions
